About this picture
“I shot this portrait of Daniel Craig on the set of Casino Royale. It’s just a white paper background with a 1K light that’s sort of feathered. When I say feathered, what I mean is that it’s the very edge of the Fresnel filter. This filter is a glass lens that goes in front of the light, and when you’re on flood, the very edge of that light creates this beautiful, soft light. This soft light is what I lit Daniel’s face with here. I then used a reflector on the other side to kick the light back in, which created a really sculpted light, so his face is really sculpted and his cheekbones look fantastic. It’s one of my favorite portraits I’ve ever taken of Daniel.”
